“ … And I will create my own Kingdom”

A tattoo engraved on my arm and a relentless dream in my heart of creating something big on my own.

Coming from a middle-class family, I knew hard work was my only option to make my dream come true.I had to work while studying to pay for my education.

From big success to big fall: I refused to quit.

I went from having a big successful business to losing everything overnight. But I didn’t give up. I kept building from scratch, over and over again.

Here’s a glimpse into my journey

GROWING UP

As a kid in school, I was one of those rare kids who always knew what they wanted in life. It was simple:

Become a Successful Business Woman

Become a Successful Filmmaker

Be the best Bharat Natyam dancer

But growing up, we didn’t have much. Our family struggled to make ends meet, always living paycheck to paycheck and never having enough money.

Dreaming of achieving any of these goals seemed impossible, given our situation.

Despite our struggles, my parents made sure my brother and I got a good education and life. They hoped we could change our family’s future. As a girl, they were over protective, hoping for me to pursue a stable government job and marry into a good family.

But I wanted a completely different life.
I worked really hard to finish my education and started working when I was 16 to support my family and my education.

That was my teenage years.

Reflections on My 20s

After graduating, I delved into learning about trends and gaining insights. Seeing the rising importance of Digital Marketing, I started my career as a digital marketer in a time when digital marketing was still new to many.
Despite having a good job, my ultimate dream was to start my own business.

Around the same time, my dad faced tough times in his business, and my family needed support. I had to make a tough choice between a high-paying job and starting my own business. I found a middle ground by working with a startup with less salary. This way, I could gain business experience while continuing my studies and supporting my family.

Over the next 10 years, I worked with startups, medium-sized companies, and big brands. I had the chance to work with global brands and played a key role in establishing their presence from scratch.

During this time, I also had the opportunity to expand businesses into other countries for my employers like the USA, Canada, Italy, UK, Dubai, and China.

In those ten years, I learned everything about running a business successfully from the ground up. Working with top brands and personalities taught me varous valuable skills.

Meanwhile, I began planning to start my own corporate gifting business, with the approval of my employer.

My Business Journey

From Seed Capital of 50K to Nine Figures

In just four years, I transformed Connection 17 into a 9-figure venture. During this time, I also took on added responsibilities in APAC countries like Thailand, Indonesia, and China, leading to substantial profits.

I achieved personal milestones as well:

Through these four years of business experience, I learned how to lead a team effectively while working a job.

9 Figure to Zero in Single Day

A Big Day of my Life – Losing Everything in a Single Day

After four successful years in business, where I grew my company to a nine-figure value and served as a chief marketing officer, I made the tough decision to leave my well-paying job to focus entirely on my business.

Things were going well, and I was making profits, investing in properties, and had acquired three properties.

But just a few days before Diwali, I shifted my inventory from three warehouses into one master warehouse. The day after Diwali, disaster struck – a fire broke out, and I lost everything over a single night.

Because of Diwali, all my capital was tied up in the business, especially since I was in the corporate gifting sector. I had planned to get insurance after Diwali, but the fire happened before I could.

I had recently moved and was still settling in, planning to get insurance after Diwali.

I had to sell my properties/investments to cover immediate loss. It took me a while to come to terms with the reality of losing everything so suddenly, I was

I had to start over from scratch. People suggested I find a job to cover my expenses, but high-paying jobs were scarce due to the effects of COVID-19.

I managed to secure one promising opportunity, but the previous employee decided to stay on, leaving me without a job after just one month. It was a tough blow, especially since they preferred to stick with someone they were familiar with.

Despite finding one promising opportunity, I faced disappointment when the previous employee decided to stay, leaving me without a job again.

Instead of giving up, I chose to trust in a higher power to help me manage the high EMIs of my home loan and navigate through this challenging time.

Despite the challenges, I decided not to pursue another job and instead relied on prayer to help me manage the high EMI of my home loan and start business again.

What I love

I often speak at corporate events, educational institutions, and conferences, sharing my knowledge and experiences.

I’ve made a decision to pursue my passion for the rest of my life.

My life motto is simple: let’s grow together.

With this in mind, I co-founded four direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands with friends and helped them grow to 10,000 orders a month within the first year.

Recognizing my extensive network of D2C brand owners, manufacturers, vendors, and aspiring entrepreneurs, I decided to organize and create a community of D2C brand owners. This community serves as a platform for them to grow their businesses quickly.

I successfully built a large premium community of over 500 D2C brand owners within a year, with our motto being ‘Give and Grow’.

I live and breathe this motto by helping other brands grow, being action-oriented and solving problems, and enjoying the journey rather than just aiming for a goal.

Let’s grow together,
